I said a while back that I wanted to make a new post about Yerba mate, since I drink it far more frequently now.
I put a good bit in my French press, and pour ~80-90 degree water over, steep for about five minutes (flexible), and pour. I usually mix in some stevia or honey. Steeping it with ginger works pretty good too.
The result is a strong cup of Yerba mate. It’s a… Hard to describe flavor. A little bit like a cross between green tea, tobacco, and dried leaves (like in autumn). Honestly I’m not a huge fan of the flavor, but it’s not bad.
If I want more, I can add a bit more of the dried tea to the French press and re-steep, for about the same strength brew.
